Printing Tips
A few simple tips for the best results.
Print at 100% scale
Unless the product says otherwise, choose Actual Size or 100% in your printer settings rather than “Fit to Page.”
Check the product size
Some designs are created at 5x7, while others are full US Letter size or formatted several per page. Always follow the instructions included with your specific download.
Choose the right paper
Regular printer paper works well for games and everyday activities. For invitations, signs, cards, and keepsakes, a heavier matte cardstock will usually give you a more polished result.
Use high-quality print settings
Selecting your printer’s best or high-quality setting can improve both color and detail.
Watch your printer margins
Most home printers cannot print completely to the edge of the page. Keep important text and design elements inside the safe printing area unless you are using a borderless printer.
For cutting
A paper trimmer will give you the cleanest edge, but scissors work too. Use any included cut guides when provided.
Printing elsewhere?
You can also take your file to a local print shop or upload it to an online printing service. Be sure to choose the correct finished size.
For editable Canva designs
When your design is finished, PDF Print is usually the best file type for printing. PNG or JPG may be better when you plan to share the finished design digitally.
